That would be a very cool option. I had a Snarling Dogs wah once, who had a preamp which you could control together with the wah...you can make some kickass sounds with that!

Hi guys,
yesterday I had a couple of professional players visiting.
I show them the new features including tap Tempo.
One of them was asked me if it was possibile to deactivate the TAP-Tempo from the expression pedal.

I thought it would be cool to have two switch between two tempo modes. First Tempo is the one set by the preset definition. The second tempo is Tap Tempo.

So I have implemented like this: when you go down with the expression pedal and you wait more then 2 sec. the Tap_tempo is erased and the tempo is set according to the preset definition.


What do you think ?

Of course I haven't tried anything yet, but it sounds to me like you may run the risk of making a pedal board with "hidden features" that can take an unaware player by surprise. Nothing worse like something like that happening live on stage...

How visible are these modes anyway? Do you see a progress bar in the display when you activated a wait-2-sec. feature?
So I guess the point I'm trying to make is: think about the feedback to the user...

When the TAP tempo is measuring the LED is always ON and does not flash.
So the user is aware of what is happening.
For me looks very easy and handy without un-expected behaviour.
Will see if Theo and Dennis think the same way

@Max: first of all i would like to give some user feedback that i am very happy with the tap-tempo function an am using it more than i expected.

I have also considered your suggestion on the tap-tempo reset to default function. It requires the user to remember to leave the pedal in the 100% pressed position. Anyway, i think it is a good idea as long as the tap-temp is assigned to the pedal because the pedal is not used for any other functions.

it is not really necessary. Tap Tempo works differential.... so it is not sensitive to a static position.
Probably I did not make my self clear.
Tap Tempo works like this:
1) to set the Tempo you need 4 beat motion from top to bottom just like when you beat a tap tempo with your foot.
2) to reset the Tempo you beat only one.

I think is best to hear your experience after try this new feature. Monday the new FW release

The PedalPro phaser uses a special calibrated function called pcal which makes the phase to modulate uniformely during the time. This pcal function is calibrated for each PedalPro and it is stored in the memory. To produce a phaser sound similar to the Mu-tron it is possible to use a triangular or sine wave.

ja die Mu-tron (of was het nou een Maestro die ik heb gehoord?) klonk heel anders, meer een kruising van een phaser en een flanger en wat agressiever dan de meeste andere phasers.
Die van de PedalPro klinkt in mijn oren nog steeds heel dik en vol. De klank is ook vintage maar dan dus meer richting SmallStone i.p.v. Mu-tron. Dus ik denk dat het is zoals Matthijs al zei, het is bij sommige effecten echt van je persoonlijke smaak afhankelijk. En hij heeft echt alles, en weet wat hij wil horen.

Met de effecten in de PedalPro kan ik in ieder geval uit de voeten, omdat er wat meer parameters te tweaken zijn dan normaal en omdat de combi van ruisloos + hoge headroom/dynamiek sowieso al zorgt dat het prettig klinkt.

Wat betreft de od/dist in de PedalPro ben ik enthousiaster dan Matthijs. Ik probeerde laatst met 2 collega gitaristen (Theo en Elco van de Blueshunters) de PedalPro overdrive over het cleane kanaal van een CAE PT-100 (kicken amp trouwens!), in vergelijking met het overdrive kanaal van die versterker, zonder PedalPro. Na een tijdje afregelen zodat we twee bijna gelijke sounds hadden, waren we het eens dat de PedalPro overdrive+clean kanaal net wat meer definitie en karakter gaf.

Het is wel duidelijk dat we een extra videootje zouden kunnen maken met alleen od/dist sounds, over een geschikte versterker (zou ook wel kunnen met de Twin, maar dan moet het wel écht hard en ik vind Twins altijd moeilijk tweaken met overstuurde sounds).

Ja, dat had ik ook niet anders verwacht want mu-tron is een van de muzikaalste phasers die gebouwd is. Daar kan zelfs een oude moog phaser(70er jaren) net niet tegen op. Een small stone, phase 90, ibanez PT-909, guyatone PS-007, Phase 100, pearl en ross phasers zijn ook heel mooi maar mu-tron is toch wel ff iets anders. matthijs heeft de OD's en fuzzen liever los maar de modulatie FX waren erg fijn, dus ik denk dat hij ook nog wel eens eentje koopt. Zeker als er CV ingangen op kunnen voor de parameters. Mochten jullie er een bouwen met alleen de flangers/chorussen/phasers/BBD delays(CV inputs) dan zie ik mezelf ook nog wel sparen.
