Point of no return - coop with Sappho

Hoi hoi!
Hope this finds you well?!

Weer een hele leuke coöperatie dit keer.
In gedachten elders kom ik overal. En dat was waar ik Sappho tegenkwam.
En zij had deze tekst gemaakt. Die tekst publiceerde ze op StarRite, een dichters community nadat Deep Underground Poetry na 25 jaar ophield te bestaan.

Na haar OK zet ik m hier. Ik had een liedje van pakweg 110/120 bpm in gedachten, maar voor dat tempo is het te wordy.

Like pearls your tears glisten on the leaves
A masterpiece of nature’s magic
So marvelous and get so tragic
Because it was us who caused your grief

We live as if there was no tomorrow
Global warming and droughts we accept
As progress’ neglectable side effect
Leaving behind problems and sorrow

We pollute your soil, water and air
Without giving back we consume and take
We exploit you for our own sake
Too long we haven’t become aware

Now, many people try to live mindfully
Though the point of no return has been passed
We hope that we can save the planet at last
Using our brains and acting gratefully

May our plead for forgiveness be enough
For you to grant us another chance
Hopefully, I thank you in advance
Mother Nature, I bless you with my love!
