I don't care for any amp with the name Marshall on it made after about '85. The DSL is a fine amp I guess, but it doesn't make the sounds that I want a Marshall to make.
The CC is my preference, and here's why:
The TBX has a poor quality board with all the pots attached, plastic mounts, ground loops built into the board, flimsy traces, unintelligent component layout (preamp circuit mixed in with power circuit), crosstalk, hum, and is way overfiltered. The cabinet is particleboard and poorly made. The wire layout is poorly thought out.
The CC addresses all of those issues, separates the power section from the preamp section, and then has more tonal options, such as in-phase channels, a great effects loop, multiple speaker outs with impedance selections, filter choices, etc.
When I got the first CC in here, I fully expected it to be of lesser quality than the TBX. I was delighted to discover I was wrong.
