Nee, nog niet gezien maar het lijkt me wel interessant. Tja, en taalfouten hebben we allemaal wel eens... bijna in iedere provincie ;-) Gelukkig worden we steeds multi-cultureler (is dat goed Nederlands?) met alle goede gevolgen van dien.

Eigenlijk is het niet echt nodig om 'yet another review' te kopen. Ik heb het ding notabene zelf thuis maar soms is het leuk om te lezen dat anderen er mogelijk ook zo over denken (soort van bevestiging dat je er niet naast zat) Beetje zielig...maar ja

Afijn, dit is de beste analoge effect-unit die er op dit moment op de markt is en als je roomboter net als ik nog steeds lekkerder vindt dan iets wat dun smaakt maar waarvan ze blijven volhouden te zeggen dat alle goede vitamines erin zitten dan ben je hier aan het goede adres.

Nee dat tijdschrift hoef je niet direct voor deze review aan te schaffen. Die in de Gitarist is veel informatiever.
In Gitaarplus staat vooral kritiek op de 'talloze marketingkreten, waardoor ze (VR) zichzelf in uitermate positieve zin met andere (sic) vergelijken en deze vervolgens afbreken'. Verder: 'Het geheel is te Vintage, te zeventiger jaren. Maar in uitvoering, dus bruikbaarheid en klank, formidabel.'
Het wordt na lezen van de review niet echt duidelijk wat nou precies de bedoeling is van het stuk. Gitaarplus zou eerst zijn stukjes moeten laten proofreaden alvorens te plaatsen, taal en inhoud zullen er van profiteren!

Anyway, de PedalPro is inderdaad pure roomboter. Ben benieuwd wat Pete Thorn ervan vindt, las op HRI dat hij 'm inmiddels in huis heeft.

I just finished to upgrade a PedalPro modification for a Client that allows to place the pre-loop effect after Boost and Distortion.

It is indeed an interesting modification which several users have been wondering about.
For making this modification, it is necessary to completely remove the main board.
The estimated working time is 1,5 hours.

In conclusion this modification can be performed for 65 EURO EXTRA charge.
The software and firmware upgrades are free of charge.

For those interested, keep in mind that soon VAT tax increment will affect the PedalPro system price.
The net price (excluding VAT) remains unchanged.

Max, i am grateful that you are willing to do this modification which shows that you are really listening to the opinion of the gitaarnet forum members and review comments. I personally think it is also a fair price and therefor would like to have it done on my unit as well. I will contact you for shipment details but am (as Roger) curious to your test room. So maybe i will visit the Hague ;-)

Ik moet zeggen dat ik de VR juist waardeer vanwege het vintage karakter en vind die vintage look en uitstraling ook juist erg mooi! En dan heeft het apparaat ook nog eens die prachtige vintage analoge effecten sound waar ik altijd al op zoek naar was... Zelfs de website heeft die mooie retro uitstraling, alles is stijlvol afgewerkt. En vergis je niet, ook bands als Anouk, Ilse de Lange etc.gebruiken voornamelijk dit soort sounds.

Ik kan me dus eigenlijk wel vinden in dat commentaar maar dan in positieve zin (ik heb artikel niet in context gelezen en je kunt de Pedalpro natuurlijk ook voor extremere effecten gebruiken).

Ik heb uit nieuwsgierigheid toch het artikel van Gitaarplus over Vintage Revolutions aangeschaft.

De auteur van Gitaarplus heeft eigenlijk 2 issues:
- De uitstraling en uitvoering van dit effectapparaat: Hij vind een 19" rack uitvoering (PedalPro) veel te retro en te zwaar. De Pedalino footcontroller komt goed uit de test. Verder worden de externe adapters als minpunt gezien.
- De sublieme sounds: Aan de andere kant worden de effecten en sounds de beste analoge sounds de hemel in geprezen. Bijna iedere uitspraak over de retro uitstraling wordt gevolgd met een lovend commentaar over de prachtige sounds en puurheid ervan.

De conclusie van de auteur is ook overduidelijk: lever de Pedalpro in een andere uitvoering uit en je hebt een kas succes. Misschien een goede tip voor VR om inderdaad na te denken over andere uitvoeringen.

En wat vind ikzelf hier nu van? Nou, ik ga voor kwaliteit. Die zowel in sounds als in totale mechanische uitvoering ver boven de 100% ligt in vergelijking met alle andere apparaten die ik heb gehad. Ik snap best dat er modernere apparaten met een hippe look worden uitgeleverd maar het bedrijf heet tenslotte niets voor niets "Vintage Revolution". Wat mij betreft zijn ze meer dan geslaagd.

Wat een gezeur toch over die looks eigenlijk. Als die je niet bevalt moet je vooral niet nadenken over de aanschaf. De looks van bijv behringer zijn zeer goed te pruimen, kopen kopen!

Ik heb het artikel niet gelezen maar de conclusies wat betreft pedalino en voeding sluiten aan bij wat ik er ook al over aangaf. Pedalino en aparte voeding doen uiteraard helemaal niets af aan de geweldige sound, maar ik heb bijv al eens live tv gedaan met een midi fc zonder phantoom terwijl ik het aanwezige publiek tijdens het spelen uit de buurt moest zien te houden van het krakkemikkige 9v plugje in de fc. Dat dus nooit meer. Wat betreft de pedalino/bediening heb ik op voorhand niet meer dan een vooroordeel; wat de boer niet kent... Maar in afwachtin van Max's virtual board ben ik erg benieuwd. Tot die tijd is het pedaal voor mij gewoon niet praktisch en heeft mijn eigen mini boardje echt meerwaarde.

19" is retro????! Ok dan....

just few comments from my side
When we approach the editor of Guitarplus, he was furious because of one month embargo agreed with Guitarist. It was absolutely disappointed from the fact that it was not our first choice :)

His point is very simple. Everything that is big and heavy is too bulky.
From one point his right. If you are a session guitarist flying all over the world size and weight is an issue.
But this should include, AMP, guitars, preamp etc...

@Peter.
If you have a foot controller with a large display, solid, compact and with at least 9 switching possibility, the rest is up to the manufacturer to develop the features to match the need of the users.
Does your foot-controller have phantom power? Does your foot-controller capable of producing a great Wah sound? ;)

The real question is: does the PedalPro system worth 2000 Euro ?
I think with or without the virtual board you have already your answer.

As you mention we have more switching possibility of the M9 with a bigger display.
If I am not mistaking, in one of the post you were suggesting to overcame some limitation of the M9.
So we have to be analogue but having better controlling features of DSP based units ?
Well we are trying hard to do so :)


My personal statement:
The PedalPro system was designed to direct replacement of pedal boards while offering better sound, expression and programmability. Once the Virtual Board will be available many other functions that are not possible with cascade pedals will be possible (eg. on/off of group of pedals, smart expression pedal...)

From my point of view, the PedalPro system is very close to offer the same digital features in terms of controls while providing unsurpassed vintage sound.

From my point of view, the sound is number one choice. In that no compromise have to be made.
I personally do not care to have a foot controller that allows for wha, volume, etc.... using midi CC,
because I know that the Wah will not sound good, the volume pedal will never sound optical.... etc.. for me is not important how many things you do but how well you do it.

Nevertheless it would be great if the PedalPro could offer all the controlling features of the most sophisticated foot controllers. This is why I am working on this matter and listen to all your suggestions

There is only one reason why people should be wondering about PedalPro system:
The sound

the rest in my view is complementary.
