aaaaaaaaaaah, u poor lad. but u must admit...the wife of Bush just had a better recipe for cookies. so victory was already proclaimed.

most Europeans would like to have Kerry winning the race. do u think that Europeans could influence the votings? cuz i get the feeling that at this moment most Americans and Europeans don't know much about each other. and that's why it's possible for Bush to shift focus from foreign politics 2 internal politics. and that's why he can play the lonesome cowboy. should Europe b more aware that the world is gettin smaller? and as the world is gettin smaller, politics is gettin a wider influence? with no doubt it can be said that America's political environment influences the rest of the world. so, i think that, if Europe really would like 2 c political changes, they must be politically active in Amerika during the elections. give lectures and stuff like that.
ow well, the political environment in Europe aint that great as well. tho i think the declaration of intent considering the European Constitution is a big step 2wards political unity within the European community.

i wish us luck, during the upcoming period term of service of Bush. we'll survive

Jeroen,

How about using capitals, "you's instead of "u" etc. etc. ??? This is the way my 4 year old cousin writes!

@DH, i appreciate your concern considering the writing skills of some of the people at this forum. but as this is not a formal letter in the sense of an application letter or some of the like, i'll stick to my informal "my-4-yrs-old-cousin" writing style. in none of my msg's i use capitals. but when it appears to become annoying to many ppl i'll change. :)

Well... since Bush is re-elected and doesn't care about the USD/Euro, this means the Dollar will lower in value. And that means more business to you Keith.
Politics and visions don't supply bread, money does ;)

Oh, and you are welcome, we could use other pedal builders here :D

I think there will be an attack on bush in person somewhere in the next 4 years.
I doubt he's gonna get killed...

there is a positive thing about bush being re-elected: he can't make things any worse than they already are can he? If he manages to do that he's crazier than any freakshow.

I still don't understand why George W. Bush is re-elected.. I mean he's messed up a lot in 4 years. I'm almost getting to think that some Americans don't give a damn about their country and just vote on the conservative one.. because they're originally conservative. Why do the American peope give Bush another change? They'd better chose Kerry in my opinion.. he couldnt do much worse than Bush?

Ah, damn. On the other hand, if you were mr. Mercedes, would you want to share a garage with mr. BMW? Not that I in the least tiny bit in any way whatsoever think that Mr. HOT WIRE AUDIO MIG BOOST Speeddemon would be tempted to have a look at any new products you might be developing, I'm sure.

Oh, Speedy, in light of this, I suppose you no longer want me to send my FuzzMaster to you for er, research purposes?

Europe cannot influence america. We are an empire. Whether the people here realize that on a conscious level or not does not matter. We have military bases all over the world, many in Europe, but do you think we would ever allow an EU nation to build a military base here? If an EU nation ever tried to set up an institution on american soil whose purpose was to influence our "democracy" in any way, there would be riots in the streets.

The mood in america right now is one of very strong (but misdirected) national pride and a desire to return to the Jeffersonian policies of isolating ourself from the rest of the world.

There is nothing anyone can really do about it for the next 4 years. Hopefully we will have come to our senses by then.

You are very wrong, Birt. It's more than just Bush. Super tuesday is an election day for many many different offices. The republican party has gained control over most branches of our government. This means that Bush's policies are going to be blindly passed without any sort of "checks and balances" now. What ever he wants, he will now get. And the situation is even more dire than it seems...Chief Justice Wlliam Rhenquist of the supreme court is on his deathbed. This position is a lifelong appointment. This means that Bush is going to get to choose someone who has the power to change America's constitution. Bans on gay marriage, abortion...Bush will turn american into a puritanical state.

With your German last name, I don't think you'll be happy living in Holland as a political refugee, after WW2 we stil don't like our neighbours :D

On a serious side: I heard about about the Senate, Congress and the fact he's in for appointing judges for the Supreme Court also this period. Scary.

I read about polls, held in a few states, that were about marriage. The majority voted for a man/woman-only marriage. So much for gay marriage then....seems like there is very little open mindedness going on lately.

Anyway, we just experienced our first radical islamic assassination too. A director and writer, slightly comparable to Michael Moore but slightly less political, was brutally murdered. I'm curious how the response will be over here.

I'm kinda' scared bush being re-elected. His previous term he had to keep his popularity high to get a second term, and in that first term already he turned the world upside down. Now he can do whatever he wants, he can't be re-elected, i think the problems have just started.

Well.. since an US president can only be elected twice, some people say that the first term has the most impact and changes.
Second term may be used to loosen up a little and to bring the new first republican or democrat in the spotlight.

Hmm, since Bush doesn't have to worry about his popularity anymore, and the Rep. party has a majority, he can more or less do what he wants. The only thing he has to worry about, are the consequences whatever he does have for the Rep. party.

Vader Van Vollenhoven was NSB-lid

***************************************
HILVERSUM De vader van Pieter van
Vollenhoven is lid geweest van de NSB.
De politicoloog Paul van der Steen zei
dit in NOVA.De schoonvader van prinses
Margriet zegde zijn lidmaatschap op in
1936,vóór de Nationaal Socialistische
Beweging in Duits vaarwater raakte.
