Uit het persbericht:

King has announced that he will no longer play guitar and has taken up Scottish Bagpipes. I have always loved the bagpipes, says King, but until now they have not been commercially viable. The sound of bagpipes through a Marshall Stack is unparalleled! The band has also announced that they will now only play funerals, wakes and the occasional Highland festival. I have also been in therepy and I no longer hate everyone, King says, I just hate mostly everyone!

In related news, Death Metal band Cannibal Corpse has announced that they will become a Backstreet Boys cover band. Lead singer George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher says, Their lyrics are much darker than ours, besides with all the war, death and destruction going on in the world, death metal just doesn't sell!
The band will now be touring the Amusement Park and County Fair circuit.

Producer Says New SLAYER DVD Was 'Tough To Mix' Due To Its Sloppiness - Aug. 15, 2004

Producer Kevin Shirley (DREAM THEATER, IRON MAIDEN) has finished mixing a live performance by SLAYER for their upcoming DVD, "Reign in Blood Live: Still Reigning", due on September 28. Regarding the DVD recordings, Shirley writes on his web site, "It's OK — some places it rocks hard, and others are a bit sloppy, but I'm sure they won't use the whole concert. It was tough to mix."

As previously reported, "Reign in Blood Live: Still Reigning" will feature a full performance of the 1986 album "Reign in Blood" by all original members of the veteran thrash metal outfit. The DVD, recorded on July 11 in Augusta, Maine, will have an approximate 75-minute running time and will retail for $14.98.

SLAYER modified their stage backdrop at the Augusta Concert to reflect the look of the mid-'80s "Reign in Blood" tour, including the SLAYER eagle and the controversial upside-down crosses that are part of the lighting rig. A ten-camera crew under the direction of Dean Karr (IRON MAIDEN) was on hand to document the show plus all the backstage action.
