Wie weet er nog wat mooie uitspraken van artiesten?

Ik hoorde van de week zelf het volgende op tv. Dat was een interview met Bono van U2 tijdens het Live Aid project in '84 of '85.
Hij zei dat hij het een "eer vond om mee te mogen doen" maar zich "niet helemaal op zijn plaats te voelen, doordat hij omringd was tussen allemaal grote sterren".

Hij voelde zich te min! Dat is anno 2002 toch wel een hele grappige uitspraak aangezien we toch mogen stellen dat U2 (een van) de grootste rockband(s) van de jaren 80 en 90 is!

Misschien dat iemand nog zo'n leuke weet.

Misschien komt het doordat ooit iemand op het idee is gekomen hem (ergens in de jaren 70) uit te roepen tot 's werelds beste gitarist. Dat de (buitelandse) gitaarwereld hem nu allang weer is vergeten heeft hij waarschijnlijk nooit kunnen verwerken. Vandaar dat soort belachelijke uitspraken.

Ik denk dat het dan een soort aandacht-probleem is, maar dat is niet erg. Wij helpen hem door er over te praten en dit consult kost hem niets.

Ik wil niet zeggen dat hij arrogant is maar ik vind het wel vreemd als hij Clapton een amateur noemt en Hendrix om te huilen vindt.
Het gaat er niet om of hij die muziek goed vindt, maar de manier waarop hij de muzikale kwaliteiten van die mensen probeert te negeren.

Ik heb zelf een hekel aan Jazz, maar zal nooit ontkennen dat er hele bekwame muzikanten zijn die Jazz spelen. Het zou vreemd zijn om hen amateurs te noemen.

Maar ja, Akkerman zal er inderdaad wel lol in hebben. Hij speelt natuurlijk zo goed dat het ook makkelijker is om een ander af te kraken.

Misschien moet hij een autobiografie schrijven met al zijn ideeen en uitspraken.

Ging je daar meejammen of alleen een biertje drinken?

Ik ben zelf nog wat huiverig voor jamsessies, speel ook nog maar kort zoals je misschien gelezen hebt (1,5 jaar).
Kan wel iets naspelen inmiddels maar heb het idee dat je voor jamsessies toch wat kennis van pentatonische ladders e.d. moet hebben.
Die kennis is nog erg beperkt bij me en vraag me af wat je dan bijdraagt aan een jamsessie.

Jij speelt uiteraard langer, maar heb je daar ook ervaring mee? Dat je in het begin moeilijk uit de verf kwam bij improviseren e.d.

Gister was het niet zo druk en heb ik een aantal malen gespeeld met Marcel Singor, echt goed die jongen.
Ik vind die jamsessies nog steeds lastig, wat ik thuis speel lukt me niet op het podium daar, dus elke keer weer veel oefenen en weer spelen maar het gaat wel steeds beter t.o.v. een jaar geleden
Niveau geeft niet want iedereen krijgt de kans om wat te spelen. Het op gang komen vind ik het moeilijkst vaak speel ik te krampachtig en kom pas na een paar nummers wat los.
Over twee weken is er een thema sessie , alleen maar blues. Als je b.v. een blues accoordenschema goed kan spelen kan je gerust meespelen. Het is zowiezo ook leuk om alleen maar te kijken want het zijn niet alleen maar muzikanten die komen.

Die bovenstaande uitspraak vind ik eigenlijk niet zo sterk, tenzij die wat meer genuanceerd wordt.
Een tattoo op een lelijke vent of vrouw is als een bumpersticker op een Lada: je probeert het ding met een sticker nog wat op te sieren.

Een tattoo op een mooie vrouw is voor mij wel als een bumpersticker op een BMW: iets wat bijna perfect is moet je vooral niet veranderen!
