Hello everybody!
I am Sotos Bakas from Athens,Greece and I came to Holland few years ago to study music.
Excuse me for my poor Dutch,I don't speak or understand that much Dutch.
I am new to the forum and wanted to share my work with you.
Recently I did a cover video playing live the tune "Fearless" by Erik Mongrain,a musician and guitarist how I really admire and has inspired me a lot.
Recorded, mixed and mastered by myself at my place.
I ll be really glad to know your opinions!
Bedankt for checking it out! :)

Hi Sotos,

You got some skills! Nice. I especially dig those fast harmonics in between. The only real criticism I can think of is the extreme brightness of your guitar sound, although that's also a matter of taste.

On a side note: do you also play metal once in a while, according to your Opethian nickname?

Anyway, good tune and nice playing. Keep it coming!

:ok:

Koelere (Blunt Amsterdam expression of being in awe).
Those flageolets are within my reach. But then again, I cheat. I only do open tunings.

There's probably one person here who may be fair competition and I for one am very curious about his remarks.
I just fell over backwards and had to be picked up by my loved one.

Give 'em hell barba. That is, if barba still means beard in Greek. May also mean uncle. Never quiet got the hang of your language.
And welcome on this forum.
Vriendelijke groet, as friendly as Merijn, if truth be told, Gus

Hello Merijn!
Thank you so much for checking it out, glad you like it!
There is some brightness on the sound yeah, that's the sound of Taylor guitars,I don't love it but stuck with it for a while more. :)
About my Opethian name :P ,I never played metal but I was listening a bit and still listen to Opeth.

Gus you are my hero!"Give 'em hell barba" is easily from the best phrases I have heard from a non Greek person haha, respect!
Thanks for checking it out as well! :)

OK, so how that I've gained some respect: please tell me that this is your most recent fingerpicking thing. Your last is hen you plan to kick the bucket.

Me, being the gitarist that I am, I think I manage my ambitions well.
After 10 years or so, I aim to play more or less half the speed you play now.

Tell us, please, what it is you're going to teach your Dutch teachers next?
And promiss not. to steal my Dutch lady friend, the way Kostas did......
Enjoy your stay here!
Vriendelijke groet, Gus

Very nice. I'm particularly fond of the sound, which really compliments the percussive style of playing. Well done!
