Hij is al anderhalf jaar af, mijn zelfbouw-preamp, eerst onder de vorm van het derde kanaal van een CAE3+(SE) en later een modificatie op een framus cobra/dragon preamp. Klinkt geweldig, en nu ik mijn Fireball verkoop, wordt het in principe mijn 'metalmachien' door de poweramp van mijn mesa mark III.
Nu had ik van het begin af last van ruis (geen brom voor zover ik het onderscheiden beheers). Gain dicht, gaat de ruis weg, gain op 12 uur, al te veel ruis om normaal te zijn. Nu heb ik een heel deel van de amp al opnieuw bekabeld, veel gepruld met lampen, maakt allemaal niets uit. Momenteel probeer ik de transformator er eens af te halen, om die verder van de lampen te zetten. Op de shootout in Boekel had iemand me gezegd dat het probleem daaraan zou kunnen liggen (alhoewel ik dan eerder een bromgeluid zou verwachten, maar het is het proberen waard).
Van de professionele of amateur ampbouwers hier zou ik nu graag horen wat ik nog over het hoofd zou kunnen gezien hebben.
-Het keramiek (of hoe heet dat) van een van de buisvoeten is wat gebarsten, maar het zit nog stevig aaneen , dus dat lijkt me geen probleem te zijn.
-De rest van de voeding (elco's, weerstanden, diodes, alles buiten de transformator) zit binnenin de behuizing, niet zo ver van de onderkant (pinnen) van de buisvoeten. Kan dit mogelijk een probleem zijn?
-Alle grids zijn aangesloten met geshielde kabel dus dat zou ook uitgesloten moeten zijn.
