Onbekende Gitaren

Mijn oom is recentelijk naar Amerika vertokken, en heeft mij daarbij een tweetal gitaren nagelaten. Ik heb op op het merk/typeplaatje in de klankkast gekeken, en ben tot de conclusie gekomen dat het deze twee gitaren zijn:

Ibanez JA-500.
Blijkbaar uit 1984. Door mijn oom een elementje in geplaatst, dus nu elektro-akoestisch.

Epiphone nr-245.
Akoestische 12-snarige gitaar.

Verder kan ik eigenlijk niks vinden over waar ik nu eigenlijk mee te maken heb, maar ik ben toch wel benieuwd of ik een gratis goudmijntje of een berg schroot heb gekregen. Ik ben zelf trouwens uitermate tevreden over de Ibanez, klinkt goed, speelt lekker. De epiphone heb ik wat meer moeite mee, vooral omdat die 12-snarig is, en ik daar niet zo veel ervaring mee heb. Ik weet wel dat mijn oom vooral celtic speelde, dus misschein iets in die hoek?
Ik zal later nog even een paar foto'tjes posten, maar als iemand alvast iets weet, post alsjeblieft!

Chris, I just received a response from Epiphone...I have the same guitar sn# 170803 and I had similar questions about my nv 245. Roger Ball at Epiphone informed me that it is a Nova 245...he even sent me an old advertisement from the 70's that went into the details of the guitar's construction. If you'd like, send me an e-mail address and I'll send you the ad. He believed mine was made sometime around 1977 (and my serial # is much lower than your's) so your's was most likely manufactured post '77. Here's some info that I found out about this guitar. Not much is known about the Nova (NV series or "Nouveau") series of guitars produced by Gibson Epiphone. This series of guitars was produced after the Gibson company was taken over by Norlin and after a few years of making reissues of original Gibson instruments, Norlin decided to make a name for itself and prove it could produce a line of acoustics all by itself. So it called in the top designers and luthiers and eventually the Nova was born. No expence was spared in the design and manufacture of these guitars and top Japanese luthiers were employed to make sure this line would beat all the older Epiphone's. The guitars were introduced in the 70's with a lot of press coverage and Norlin proudly displayed their own name on the label. There were 6 strings, archtop 12 strings, & flattop 12 strings, each with varying degrees of build quality and finish. The only problem was that very quickly it was seen that these guitars were too expensive to produce and the competition was so fierce that they could'nt compete with all the cheaper guitars coming out of Japan at that time. The public just weren't paying the high prices being asked for them, despite very good reviews from the music press. It wasn't long before the NV range faded away and was forgotten by all but the owners of these wonderful guitars.

mischien dat deze poster nog steeds datzelfde emailadres gebruikt, dan kan je hem altijd eens mailen met een vraag.

de ibanez is ook mysterieus, vond een paar foto's, mooie gitaar met zo op de foto te zien massieve voor en achterkant, geen goedkoop dingetje dus.

in ieder geval een gitaar die vrij zeldzaam is, en beide lijken mij als ik dit zo lees en zie beslist niet goedkope dingetjes.

Hartstikke bedankt! Ik heb alleen een typefoutje gemaakt in het typenummer van m'n epiphone, dat is namelijk een NO-245.

Voor de rest is die Ibanez die je bent tegengekomen bijna exact die van mij. Mijn serienummer is namelijk:
84050051D, tegenover
84070070D van het plaatje dat je gepost hebt.

Ik heb op het moment wat trubbels met mijn digitale camera (batterijen die elke keer leeg zijn), maar ik zal morgen wat fotootjes posten van mijn exemplaren.
