Guitarist Larry Lee Passes Away at Age 64
Larry Lee, a fellow guitarist and long-time friend of Jimi Hendrix passed away on October 30 at the age of 64. Born Lawrence H. Lee Jr. on March 7, 1943 in Memphis, Tennessee, Larry met Jimi Hendrix in early 1963 and forged a lasting friendship that would carry through a lifetime. In addition to joining Hendrix on stage at Woodstock as a member of the Gypsy Sun & Rainbows, Lee was a prominent touring musician with Al Green throughout the 1970s.
